Peng Jia

Dr. Peng Jia is an Assistant Professor in GeoHealth Initiative at the University of Twente, The Netherlands. He is the founder of the International Initiative on Spatial Lifecourse Epidemiology (ISLE) and the president for the organizing committee of The 1st International Symposium on Lifecourse Epidemiology and Spatial Science (ISLES). His research mainly focuses on the applications of Geographic Information Systems, statistics, remote sensing, Global Positioning System, and mobile devices and applications in public health areas, especially in chronic disease research such as obesity. Hisother interests include the association between climate and health, construction and optimization of national hierarchical healthcare systems, allocation and equality of healthcare resources, etc. He was the recipient for the Jacques May Dissertation Prize from the Health and Medical Geography Specialty Group of the Association of American Geographers, the Outstanding Article of the Year Award from the U.S. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, etc. He has published more than 70 papers in SCI journals, including International Journal of Epidemiology, Obesity Reviews, Annual Review of Public Health, International Journal of Obesity, Environmental Health Perspectives, The Lancet Infectious Diseases, The Lancet Global Health, The Lancet Planetary Health, The Lancet, etc.
