Wei Huang
Prof. Wei Huang, academic appointments include Visiting Professor of Xi’an Jiaotong University(XJTU)/the former dean of the management school of XJTU, Visiting Fellow of Harvard University, tenured Full-Professor/Faculty of Ohio University (USA)/University of New South Wales (Australia), Visiting Professor of Beijing University and Tsinghua University, Honorary Chair Professor and Dean of Management School of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU), etc. He has had more than 30 years’ teaching andresearch experiences in top-tier research universities of USA, Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore and mainland China. Huang’s research interested areas include computer-mediated managerial communication, business analytics, group support systems, big data management and data quality, e-government/e-commerce, IT and service outsourcing and IT/IS management. His research publications include more than 10 books published in America and Germany; more than 160 peer-reviewed quality journal and international conference proceeding papers published in the world’s top tier academic journals such as MIS Quarterly (MISQ) , Journal of MIS (JMIS), Journal of AIS, IEEE Transactions, etc. He is a global ESI Top 1% scholar in terms of citation.Some scholarly competitive awards and/or fellowships received include Sir Anthony Mason Fellowship Award from University of New South Wales in Australia. He also received the prestige research award, the Bright Internet Jae Kyu Lee Award, being presented by the President of Korea Society of Management Information Systems (KSMIS), in recognition of his outstanding research, in December 2017, Seoul, Korea. This award is awarded only one international scholar/recipient each year. Huang is the first awardee of Chinese scholar awarded by KSMIS so far. Based upon Huang’s professional services and research in the past two decades, the Council of Association of Information Systems (AIS) that is the most prestigious academic association of IS in the world, has chosen him as one recipient of the prestige “Sandra Slaughter Outstanding Services Award”in 2018.Huang is the first scholar of mainland China origin receiving the award so far.
