Prof. Guihua Zhuang is the Dean of School of Public Health at Xi'an Jiao Tong University Health Science Center, Director of the Center of Infectious Disease Prevention and Control of Xi’an Jiaotong University Global Health Institute, Deputy Director of the Key Laboratory of Trace Elements and Endemic Diseases of the National Health Commission and Vice President of Shaanxi Provincial Preventive Medicine Association. He is also on the editorial board of several journals, such as Chinese Journal of Epidemiology,Chinese Journal of Preventive Medicine, Journal of Xi’an Jiaotong University (Medical Sciences), Vaccine, Pediatrics. He has led and participated in sever major national or provincial research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation and international cooperative grant. He used to undertake tasks based on the 11th and 12th Five-Year Plan and mainly took charge of the prevention and treatment of major infectious diseases like AIDS and viral hepatitis. At present, he and his research team participate in the project ofprospective evaluation study of screening for upper gastrointestinal cancer which is funded by the National Health and Family Planning Commission, and he is also responsible for the health economics evaluation. He had published more than 100 papers in international peer-reviewed journals. His research interests include epidemiology of infectious diseases, health and health economics evaluation, and disease control and health promotion.
