1. Director
Prof. Xi Li is a first-level chief physician, doctoral supervisor, Director of the Center for Ageing Health and Geriatrics, Global Health Institute, Xi'an Jiaotong University. Prof. Li is the former director of the Department of Geriatrics (Department of Geriatrics), the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University, Deputy Director of the Institute of Integrative Medicine Chang, and Executive Director of China Geriatrics Society. He is the member of Standing Committee Member of China Geriatrics Research Center, Standing Committee of External Biopsy Professional Society of China Biomedical Engineering Society, Vice Chairman of Shaanxi Geriatrics Branch of Chinese Medical Association, former Chairman of Xi'an Geriatrics Branch and member, and a member of the journal editorial committees of eight journals, such as Chinese Journal of Geriatrics, Chinese Journal of Gerontology, Practical Journal of Geriatrics, and Chinese Journal of Clinical Medicine. He visited the George Washington University School of Medicine as a visiting scholar. He hosts five national-level projects, the International Multi-Center Cooperation Project of the Royal College of Medicine in London, UK, “HYVET Clinical Research” (Elderly Hypertension Intervention Study). Prof. Li was responsible for 8 provincial and ministerial-level projects and published more than 100 papers. He was awarded the Second Prize and the Third Prize of the Science and Technology Achievements of the Shaanxi Provincial Government, two national invention patents, and the “China Integrated Traditional Chinese Medicine Contribution Award” issued by the Chinese Association of Integrative Medicine.
2. Mission and Goals
Establishing a discipline platform for geriatrics research institutions to fill in the gaps, and actively address the opportunities and challenges of the development of geriatrics. Integrate the talent resources of related scholars and experts engaged in basic and clinical research of geriatrics throughout the school, share experimental technology information resources, multi-disciplinary cross-integration and innovation, strengthen the construction of geriatric research institutions and talent teams, and grasp the current international development trends and research hotspots of geriatrics problems, attach importance to the functional rehabilitation and chronic disease management of elderly patients, improve the life quality of the elderly, strengthen the training of talents in discipline construction, promote the integration of the geriatrics discipline of our university with the international standards, and carry out international scientific and technological cooperation and exchanges. Focus on intelligence to form power, actively apply and undertake major national-funded scientific research projects in the field of "aging and geriatric diseases", strive to publish high-quality papers, occupy a place in academic research exchanges in the field of geriatrics at home and abroad and have a certain influence.
