1.Director
Xiong Guo, Professor, doctoral supervisor, Director of (Xi’an Jiaotong University) Key Laboratory of Endemic Diseases and Trace Elements, National Health Commission，Vice-Chairman of Endemic Disease Branch of Chinese Medical Association and Kaschin-Beck Disease Group, Vice-Chairman of Endemic Disease Committee of National Health Standards Committee, and Vice-Chairman of National Advisory Committee of Experts on Endemic Disease Prevention and Control of National Health Commission. Prof. Guo participated in the review and approval of National Health Endemic Disease Standards and conducted the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" and "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" of the prevention and control of endemic. Prof. Guo host the key projects of international cooperation of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the special projects of international cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Technology.
2. Mission and Goals
Build the scientific and technological innovation platform and a talent training base for major endemic diseases in the Western of China and the Silk Road region, lead and drive the continuous development of major endemic diseases in the countries along the Silk Road, and provide support for development of global health.
3. Main research directions
Research on major scientific issues such as the etiology, pathogenesis, molecular diagnosis, elimination of environmental causes, development of population intervention strategies, and cost-effectiveness evaluation of major endemic diseases in the Silk Road region.
