Shiyong Liu
Dr. Shiyong Liu is the Professor at Southwestern University of Finance and Economics. He got his Ph.D. from Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech. His major interests are in the policy evaluation, modeling of healthcare management system, systems engineering, system of systems engineering, system dynamics modeling, agent-based modeling, complex system design, fuzzy set theory and application. His recent research is focused on the application of systems science tools to modelhealthcare system, the design of interventions and policies based on the simulation results, the research on the sustainable implementation. In the past, he has done extensive trans-disciplinary research in policy evaluation include traffic congestion pricing policy and its impact, financing sustainability of healthcare system in China, pricing policy in obesity prevention and intervention, economic evaluation of diabetes interventions. He has published more than 30 papers in peer-reviewed journals and conferences. He has secured grants from Ministry of Education in China, and Social Science Foundation of China. As primary researcher, he participated in research funded by several grants such as from the National Science Foundation (USA), National Institute of Health (NIH, USA), and National Science Foundation (China). He serves as a reviewer for 15 peer-reviewed journals such as European Journal of Operational Research, Annals of Operations Research, Transportation Research Part A: Policy and Practice, Systems Research and Behavioral Science, etc.
