Dr. Hyunjung Lim is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medical Nutrition and also the Director of the Research institute of Medical Nutrition, Graduate School of East-West Medical Science at Kyung Hee University in South Korea. She received her BS, MS and PhD in Clinical Nutrition from Kyung Hee University in South Korea, and her postdoctoral training in nutritional epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (Baltimore, MD, USA) during 2010-2013. Dr. Lim’s main researchinterests focus on the relationships between dietary risk factors and incidence/prevalence of non-communicable diseases such as obesity, hypertension and diabetes. In addition, she also has interest in nutritional epidemiology and childhood obesity especially nutritional assessment and management. Dr. Lim has expertise and experience in evaluation of nutritional status and the quality of diet, and the patient-customized nutrition management. Furthermore, she is an expert in clinical nutrition that establishes and applies nutritional therapy courses for patients with various diseases. As a junior professor over the past 5 years, Dr. Lim has published more than 37 peer reviewed papers and have secured about $ 1.3 million research grants as a PI funded by the National Institutes in South Korea (Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, and Rural Development Administration) and other funding agencies. Dr. Lim has served on Establishment Committee Member of 2020 DRI (Dietary Reference Intake) for Korean and reviewer for over 10 journals such as BMC Public Health, European Journal of Public Health, etc. She is a director general of Korean Society of Clinical Nutrition, section editor (Nutrition) of Journal of Obesity & Metabolic Syndrome and a training/education/nutrition committee of Korean Society for the Study of Obesity.
